Subutex / Suboxone

Subutex and Suboxone are medications commonly used for treatment of opioid dependence. Both contain buprenorphine, a partial opioid agonist that helps manage cravings and withdrawal symptoms. Suboxone also contains naloxone, an opioid antagonist, to deter misuse and overdose. Despite being valuable tools in addiction treatment, dependency on Subutex or Suboxone is possible, particularly if not used as directed.

Abrupt discontinuation can lead to withdrawal symptoms, emphasising the importance of a carefully managed tapering process. At GCPS, we understand these intricacies and are committed to providing tailored support through evidence-based treatments, guiding individuals towards a balanced and sustainable recovery journey, free from the challenges of opioid dependency.

Addiction to prescription opioids can occur without you realising it. Regardless of how a dependancy is developed, there is never any shame in reaching out for help.
